It was a busy weekend and boy am I glad it's over haha. Between getting our costumes finished and the shop decorated for halloween AND my birthday party, I'm whooped this week. Halloween evening we handed out candy at the shop for the annual "Halloween On The Square". I did a little mini Photo Booth outside. It wasn't too successful but I did get some cute photos out of it! We went trick or treating in our neighborhood afterwards. Conrad was so excited to be the Star Lord for halloween. I was a piñata and my boyfriend was Nacho Libre. My costume was a but of a pain to make because I kept running out of hot glue sticks, but it was very simple apart from that.  Lola was super woman of course! After the candy high wore off, Conrad passed out on the couch watching Casper.

My party turned out adorable. It was a blast and everything turned out really well. It was freezing cold on my birthday so I definitely think that kept a lot of people at home and kept the evening shorter than it would've otherwise been, but the band, October 5th, was FANTASTIC and the food was yummy. I made this recipe for some yummy Apple Pie Moonshine. I made the cute little heart shaped lights behind the band. I really got to see how wonderful our back patio space can be and the potential it has for future events and fun times.

 Now I've gotta make it through Christmas! Luckily there's still a handful of weeks til that. lol

What did you dress up as for Halloween?

My dog is one! If you've followed the blog for the past year than you might remember her as a pup when we got her. She was basically the cutest thing I've ever seen. I had great elaborate plans for a doggy smash cake and cute photos but it just didn't happen. I did manage to get a few cute pictures though. It's been an eventful one year with this hyper silly dog. We couldn't imagine life without her now that's for sure.

Since she is just too cute I figured it was time for a Lola update. She is now 8 months old. It seems like she grew too fast for me to keep up. Her ears are finally standing completely tall and she is a complete mess!! I know from previous experience that Boston Terriers are very active and hyper dogs, which was one of the main reason I chose her because I figured she would be great for my son. But goodness she is hyper! Most evenings, Conrad and her are chasing each other around the house or outside. They're two peas in a pod and we love her. She is such a clown. I love that she is always so excited to see me more than anyone else in the house. It makes me feel special. She'll jump from the floor to my arms and is doing pretty well with learning tricks. So far she can sit, talk, roll over (sort of) and high five.

Now for the bad news. When we moved to our new house she started having issues with being left alone while we were at work and school and decided that a great idea to pass the time would be to start dragging out trash, ripping up carpet, and chewing on furniture! Basically anything that was left on the floor or out she would get into. She would even jump up onto the kitchen table and tear up the napkins or any food that was there. I've never really been much for kenneling dogs up but I felt I had no choice if I wanted to keep my sanity and house in tact. So we're much better now that we overcame that little messy bump. I'm hoping she'll out grow all of that in the next 6 months haha.

Work has my life pretty occupied lately so here's a MUCH overdue instalife update. (I can't wait to share what I've been working on!!)  I can't believe how fast my pup is growing!!! And whose pumpkin do you think is the best? My boyfriend and I have a bet going to see what you all say haha.

 Just for the sake of cuteness, here's an update on Lola. She is currently snuggled at my feet while I take a break from work to post this.
She's already grown like crazy.
I'm happy that she and the cats are now best friends. ( Mostly they just lay there and let her terrorize them)
She knows how to sit, stay, and rollover almost.
I'm waiting for her ears to stand up. (Anyone know about this? I googled it and they should be starting to stand up by now.)
She sleeps in her own bed, hasn't whined one single time like most puppies I've had or been around.
She is CRAZY and has so much personality. She gets mad when she can't jump up down from the couch and throws little growling fits. It's hysterical.
Yes, like every Boston Terrier I've been around she farts CONSTANTLY haha.
Anyways, we love her to pieces already.
I guess I should get back to work now. =)

Did you just die of cuteness? Because I did.

Meet Lola, or as she has already been nicknamed Lola Bean. Isn't it funny how you pick a name for a pet and it always turns into like 20 variations of that name. (Like my cat Murphy is now Murphsky, Murphster, Munster, and Murphaloop and my other cat Nini is now Banini, loco nini and nini-pie. )

We picked her up this past weekend and have been in love ever since. I am a hardcore cat lady, but I'm slowly but surely becoming that lady that drives everywhere with her dog. So far she has been such a perfect puppy when it comes to going outside and even knows how to sit already and she is so hysterical when she is playing that we end up in tears laughing. Her little growl and bark is just adorable. Expect frequent and annoying photo/video dumps of her in the future haha.
