Like everyone else pulled over on the side of the highway, we stopped to take blue bonnet pictures yesterday. It's one of those Texas traditions that I love. Of course we can't make it through taking pictures without him being silly.. hence the flowers on his head lol. Do any of you make it a point to take blue bonnet pictures?
Happy Hump Day guys! (I never thought I'd appreciate humpy days until I got a real grown up job lol)

We had an insanely busy spring break weekend, weekend before last. I had my cousin's 1st birthday party that I photographed and we went straight from the party on a mini trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park and Dinosaur World in Glen Rose, Texas. I've been wanting to take him since he first became obsessed with dinosaurs. We are also went to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center . It was such a blast and very worth the money. It was on the chilly/windy side so I can only imagine how fun it would be in summer. Our spring break wasn't anything incredibly exciting due to me working so I wanted to go out with a bit of bang so to speak and take Conrad on a little adventure. It was a nice weekend getaway. I wasn't very impressed with out hotel but the drive wasn't too bad. Unfortunately the boyfriend had to work, but it was fun nonetheless. This is a prelude to our more exciting adventures that we have planned for next month.
Have you done or are you planning anything special for spring break?

This past week I had the honor of doing shooting a pregnancy shoot for my childhood best friend. Nothing feels more nostalgic than traveling to your small hometown (where you know everyone and everyone knows you and your parents) to see an old friend, especially for something as life changing and monumental as a pregnancy and birth of a child. I was super stoked she asked me to do these for her. Keeping in mind I am not a full time photographer, nor do I have any education or much experience really in the field, I think they turned out well.
We had lots of laughs and talked about the olden days while I worked my way through brush and lets face it... cow poop. haha. all in all it was a great evening even though we ran out of day light WAY too quickly. Note to self: it gets dark in the woods very, very quickly. (These were a few of my favorites from the FIRST half of the set that I've edited so far! More later!)
Well that's it for today! Back to work haha! Hope all is good friends!

Excuse me for being so m.i.a this week. It's been busy!!!! I've been trying to get things ready for my son and I both for school, trying to plan our upcoming vacation, planning little man's 5th birthday and lots and lots of WORK. I can't complain about any of this at all though. I'm completely happy with how fast things are changing and moving forward. I can't wait to share some of the projects I've been working on in my studio!! Needless to say, I'll be happy when this weekend is over. We have been trying to have a little bit of fun amidst the craziness... We went and watched Turbo (WHICH WAS HILARIOUS!) We've been trying to hit up as many parks, carnivals and museums as possible too. Anything in the AC will do honestly haha.
Also, I was hoping to go to TX Style Council but I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it. Are any of you going?
Well back to work!
Kat
