Mobile Popup Shop Inspiration: Vintage Trailers, RVs, Ice Cream Trucks & More
7:20 AMUnknownIf you haven't lived under a rock the past few years, you've probably seen a mobile shop of some sort, whether it be a food truck at the flea market or fair or a full out mobile boutique. When they started popping up I loved the idea of having something like that to travel with my shop! Now it seems like everybody and their mom has a tiny vintage camper for novelty or business.

Fall Fashion Inspiration - Velvet, Copper, Stripes, Tulle & Mustard Yellow!
1:53 PMUnknown
Blame it on Pinterest, but I'm just IN LOVE with all these colors and
styles I'm seeing for Fall! Tights, velvet, mustard yellow, coppers,
browns, leather! Okay, I'm drooling. I felt the need to gather some
pretty pictures, because well, pretty pictures make everyone happy?
Also, I've become slightly obsessed with finding a tulle skirt! Because
all girls have a LITTLE ballerina in them right?

I've got a lot of great posts coming soon, but things have been busy with the shop and school things and let's be honest, once the weather starts to cool down, I get in "snuggle up and binge watch New Girl mode". SO I've scrambling trying to get posts finished for next week. So sorry for the lack of posting. I am however stoked to share an upcoming project I will be working with some of my new lovely friends on.
I've thrown the idea of doing a photo shoot and making a look book with the clothes from my shop around for quite some time now (even when I was just selling on etsy). Now the idea is quickly becoming a reality! I've got some great, beautiful ladies who have volunteered to model and do hair and make up! Everyone loves pretty pictures and all of the girls I've had volunteer for this so far love dressing up and posing just as much as I do so it feels like a win win situation! I've had a lot of fun planning and pinning so far. Here's some of my inspiration for the shoot.
Obviously I'm leaning towards a dark, nature theme. I plan on using a lot of the old cameras and radios that I have but my mom's friend offered to let us use her old Model T in the photos too! We have a really cool old train station right down the road from the shop so I'm excited for what we can do! And it's the perfect time to do a photo shoot now that the weather is starting to cool off.
What do you think would be a good idea for something to do in a shoot, props, locations etc? I'd love to hear your suggestions.
Much love!

Workspace Inspiration: Setting Up The Perfect Design Studio Work Space
10:53 AMUnknownNow that the shop is officially functioning, its time to move on to the office side of things. For the grand opening of the shop I was focusing on only the front end retail side because I knew that people would be mingling about and hanging out all over the shop and I honestly didn't want all of my equipment, computers, cameras and work stuff laying around while everyone was coming and going.
I'm so excited because I can basically take all of those images that I've been pinning for years of my dream work space and put them into action. The front of the shop is all lofty high ceilings and exposed brick. The studio/office side is all white walls but still with the high tin ceilings. One of my very favorite parts of the whole place is the skylight that is over the studio area.
I'm torn between having sort of a conference table so that when clients come in or if I have other people coming in to work we can easily work together OR having a table that runs lengthwise down one side of the room. Either way it would have to be something that could easily be multipurpose, (like, dining room table, homework station, painting station, sewing table etc!) as well as something that could work well with what ever event, party or thing we have going on at the shop.
much love,
Kat

With just a handful of weeks to get the shop + studio whipped into shape, my work is cut out for me and my wonderful support system that have so graciously volunteered to help. My Pinterest boards are going full force and I've been over planning. Here's my dreamy inspiration for what it will hopefully be.
Shout out to my two wonderful sister-in-laws. (Even though I'm technically no longer with their brother they are the sisters I never had. I love them to pieces.) They have unknowingly inspired and given me that little extra push that I needed to follow this dream of mine. When I first started thinking I could make this work and received some not so encouraging advice from most, they gave me the pep talks and inspiration I needed. Every time that I am feeling a pinch of doubt I talk with them and I am reassured that I'm not crazy or making a terrible decision. Yay for dreamers and risk takers. lol
Once again, if you are interested in consigning your crafts or products you'd like to donate a product or money to the start up you can below or by contacting me at howdy(at)gypsybeard.com
Happy Hump Day!

Spring time seems to be when everyone is having garage sells, doing their spring cleaning, and gets a little bit more pep in their step. Apparently that's when businesses also get the urge to do some fresh new marketing. I've been bombarded with quotes for web site designs and graphic work these past weeks. I'm completely stoked! Here's a mood board for a project that I've been working on recently.
I've been a bit MIA these past weeks due to work, my son's school activities and soccer, but hopefully things will be a little less chaotic this coming week.
What have you lovely people been up to? Creating anything great lately? Please share!

I had a great new project come in this past week! I've been very selective lately about what kind of work I take so that I don't get too busy and stressed with my 8-5 job and everything at home. I couldn't pass this one up though. I can't share too much yet, but here's my first round mood board (inspiration board).
The vibe of the project is a little bit grungy, masculine, strength, innovative, mechanical, and with a touch of 50's futuristic advertising thrown in there . The product is an innovative new idea geared towards men (and even some women) who work (and play) outside. Think adventurous ATV adventures and hauling massive loads across America. I can't wait to share the end project with you.

We have two bathrooms in our new place (insert happy dance). Since my boyfriend and I moved into together we've always shared one bathroom between the 3 of us. Talk about crowded. With a little boy's bath toys and my boyfriends extensive collection of hair gel and cologne, and we haven't even started on my hair products etc... it was a disaster. We're planning renovations on BOTH bathrooms eventually but one of them is in immediate need of updating. We're talking, sheet rock only walls in the shower that are beginning to crumble and counter tops and a sink from the 60's. I'm all for vintage charm, but this is just old and outdated. Right now, we are mostly using what is technically the master bathroom and slowly making changes to the guest/Conrad's bathroom. In a perfect world I would have a clawfoot or garden tub and a separate shower. We'll see if that happens.
Here's a bit of my inspiration for the guest/Conrad's bathroom. I'm really hoping to give it some pretty bright tile on the wall and maybe the floor. I'm also leaning towards a pretty wood pattern for the floor. Both of our bathrooms are fairly small so I don't think it would be too big of a project. What do you think? Have any tips? I'm really scared to to be tackling my first ever home reno project... thank goodness my brother is a plumber in case any disasters arrise! haha
happy weekend everyone!

I fell in love with this fellow BRAD WOODARD's web site design via pinterest... his whole portfolio makes me smile. All of those gorgeous colors and his illustration style are brilliant. Mad props sir, mad props. =) Check out his site for more of his incredible work. I'm really considering taking his online Digital Illustration: Communicate with Color, Pattern and Texture course at some point in the future. Hope you love his work as much as I do.

Hot Air Balloon Photo Shoot //// could this be any more perfect?
8:45 AMUnknownI do a lot more researching and inspiration hunting than I used to in terms of photography... so when I came across this shoot by Audra Wrisley Photography + Design on Glamour & Grace I almost cried it was so beautiful. Check out the full shoot. It's gorgeous. I am already looking for when the next hot air balloon even is to take pictures of my family. lol
I've got baby showers and invitations as well as the upcoming photo shoot on the brain this week. I've been collecting old floral fabrics, lace, tea cups and "milk glass for decoration. I'm finding such pretty and inspiring things on pinterest. *sigh* This will be an exciting week for me as well as the blog. Stay tuned for more on that!
Well happy monday everyone! kat ann
