school field trip to the zoo. Tyler, TX

About a month back my son's school has a field trip to the zoo in Tyler, TX. I love this zoo, its not in the middle of Dallas so it's a nice chill, not scary zoo and it's never crowded. My favorite part of the zoo was the little bird "walk a bout" where you can basically hang out with birds and feed them. Conrad literally was amazed and in awe the whole time we were in there. Also, love was in the air at the zoo... let's just leave it at that haha.

After the school left we stayed a little while longer and made another round around the zoo and spent a long time in there feeding the birds. I had a proud mommy moment when there was another kid in there (probably 6 or 7) who was walking up to the birds and slapping them!! My son looked at me confused because he didn't understand why this kid would do that. He looked and the kid and told him not to do it because he was hurting them and scaring them. I'm glad that he has the sweet big heart that he does already. We has lots of fun and I took lots of pictures of course.

This was my first chance to use the only zoom lens that I own so far. I ended up picking this one up at a pawn shop for $90. Not too bad, it zooms decent enough especially for the price.
